What is
COPA Coca-Cola was initiated in 1998 as a Mexican youth football tournament where 13-15 year old boys and girls competed at the local, state and national levels in order to determine the top male and female youth football teams in Mexico.
Five years later, COPA Coca-Cola occurred in multiple nations around the world, culminating in a World Cup style International COPA Coca-Cola tournament (ICCC) each summer.
In Africa COPA Coca-Cola is played in Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique,
Zambia, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Ethiopia, Angola, South Africa, Namibia,
Botswana, Malawi, Congo, Rwanda and Nigeria as a local country
tournament.
In 2010 the team coaches for the pre-national finals in Nigeria include ex-Super Eagles players, Taribo West, Samson Siasia, Victor Ikpeba and Peter Rufai. See below for interviews with some of your favourites.
